MICROFINANCE and BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

In Cambodia, there is virtually no existence of a middle class leaving the gap between the rich and the poor to be quite drastic. Because of this, it makes it nearly impossible for low-income families, who have less access to financial resources, to begin and sustain businesses of their own. Because of this, there has been an influx of microcredit based organizations in order to assist those who don't have access to funds for loans as small as a bag of rice seeds to begin and sustain a steady form of income.

Your role in a volunteer placement at a microfinance NGO will involve tasks such as proposal writing, checking and writing reports, and an occassional field visit to various provinces to see through the implementation of a recently granted microcredit.
